     The picture may not show this clearly but if you saw it first hand you would see it. These are aluminum oval sleeves and as we have learned over the years, aluminum and stainless don’t get along in harsh environments. The sleeve on the left is split clear down to the wire and is in immediate danger of failure. The one on the right is just starting to go but will follow suit shortly. These are 2 Wishbone Hangers recently sent to us for replacement. Luckily this Nonsuch owner had an eagle eye and saw the danger.  Not all of the original Wishbone Hangers were made with aluminum sleeves, but it is certainly worth having a very good, close-up look at this item on your boat.
